Kaler Kantho photographer Golzar Rahman Adar alias Adar Rahman has been granted bail by the court. Monday (September 20) at noon, Rangpur Senior District and Sessions Judge. Shahenur granted him bailAfter his release on bail, he received a warm welcome from DRBTV.live.l

Earlier on Wednesday afternoon, a team of RAB-13 arrested Adar Rahman from a house in Injirpara in Rangpur city in a case filed by the ACC. He was later handed over to Mahanagar Haragachha police station. Abdul Haq Pramanik was the lawyer of the accused.

Adar Rahman was working as a cameraperson during the tenure of the then mayor of Rangpur City Corporation Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu. A complaint was lodged with the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) against the then chief engineer of the city corporation Akhtar Hossain Azad and executive engineer Emdad Hossain for embezzling Tk 30 crore. Adar Rahman was a witness in that incident.

Later, in order to release the influential clique, Adar Rahman was accused by a witness and on February 15, the ACC’s Rangpur integrated district office assistant director Md. Nur Alam filed a chargesheet in the court. Adar Rahman was arrested in the case.

Supervising engineer Emdad Hossain is currently working for Rossi. Akhtar Hossain Azad, a former officer of the City Corporation, later joined the Law Ministry. He is currently working as the director of the investigation branch of the ACC
